Feedback Overview - Gear progression system
Feedback Goal - Allow players to upgrade their gear in preparation for future mods
Feedback Functionality - A gear progression system would allow players to upgrade their gear, this system would prevent gear from becoming obsolete in future mods. Allowing players to upgrade gear gives players at end game something to really grind for. It will also involve professions, skill nodes and dungeons.
So how would this be implemented once a player reaches level 80 they will receive a quest to craft Protector’s Gear. The player would gather the materials need for their respective armor. We would complete a complete set Head, arms, chest, feet, belt, neck, and undergarments, as well as their class weapons.
How is this different from what is in the game now. Well this gear can be upgrade several times with ranks in between. So the gear would go from Protector, Heroic, Epic, Legendary, Masterwork, Legendary, Transcendent, Mythic and that goes for every piece. In between refining from Protector to Heroic there are levels Protector +1, +2, etc… up to +10 after +10 it can be upgrade to Heroic. After every upgrade there is a slight change in the way each piece looks. To refine from Protector to Protector +1 materials are cotton cloth x50 and Leather x65, 10 gold.
From Protector to Epic can be acquired via dungeon runs, to get from Epic and higher it requires players to run dungeons and craft certain items to refine to the next level. That’s where gathering and crafting comes back into play. With this system when gear is upgraded not refined, when can select the stats we need depending on our class. What I mean is there is a list of stats for players to select, top of the stats given to players from the gear itself. This will help with build diversity and no one build will be the same.
How are dungeons involved by giving 100% drop rates on the refinement items from boss drops and dungeon chest. When players choose a dungeon they can see which dungeons drop what items and run those dungeons, this would eliminate the need for random que’s. Because all class will always be queuing for a dungeon. Eventually I suppose all dungeons will be at level 80.
If a gear progression system players will have more to do and in my IMO more fun doing it. I really don’t like the current gimmick gear system in the game currently, minus this stat for this stat. I just want the stat without having to sacrifice another stat.

In short, Master Crafting should be allowed to make use of what we consider "junk" gear pulling off some of the stats to replace them on others. I cited an example with the old Thayan Book of the Dead and the newer Arcturia's Music Box. Actually looking back on that example the Thayan Book of the Dead isn't really that old, but I am sure you get the idea. Another example I gave was crafting some 12 slot bags and using 2 bags together to make an 18 slot or a +1 bag with 20 slots.
