It started after a patch 2-3 days back, I've un- and reinstalled, verified, run in windowed safe mode with the -console command (which only works up to the point where I press 'play' for me) and it hasn't changed a single thing...I'm getting stuck in the exact same place every.single.time...

Now, I'm terribad at computers, apart from playing games on them, so any suggestions reaaally need to be explained like as if I was an 8 year old kid...And obviously this had to come 2 weeks after I got a 6 months prem package, so now every day feels even more wasted as I can count those keys being lost to the big fat corporate omnoms...

[Edit] I wanted to add my screeny of where it gets stuck, but best I could manage is the imgur link at the top

I'm facing the _exact_ same issue as you; I have not been able to reach the character selection screen ever since Mod 18 dropped either. I've even left the black screen on overnight to let it patch, but no luck.

It seems like the majority of people can log in, but bleeding players for ridiculous stuff like this (which likely has a simple enough fix) is not a good idea, Cryptic... :(

I am having the Exact issue as well.
I deleted Logitech Game software as noted in another thread. - Nothing
    I verified files - Nothing

It sits there with 2 files to patch saying patching and hangs.

Acknowledgment of an issue from Cryptic would be useful.

Same here. Unable to play as it sits there with 2 files to patch saying patching and hangs.

Would be nice to play the new module.

For those who had the same issue as me whereby you get stuck while "Patching 2 files.....", try the following. It works for me so hopefully works for you too.

At your neverwinter login screen, before you click PLAY, click "Options" at the top of the window, then under "Patching" select "Force Verify" instead of "On-demand Patching". Click "Save" and then PLAY. It will verify the files and patching will kick in once again. After patching is completed, you should be able to play as per normal.

I had already tried a force verify without un-ticking on demand patching. That didn't work.
However, a force verify and unticking demand patching works.

    Thanks for the tip!

I seriously doubt the motherboard GPU is going to work on this game. If you have DirectX installed, open the run box in Windows and check with dxdiag.exe Just type that in the run box and it will start the utility.

DirectX and its diagnostic tool has been around for a long time. The first version was released back on the Windows 95. Later to further promote DirectX, Microsoft made their first console "The X Box" to show off the graphics library. The most recent version, which is included with Windows 10, is DirectX 12. The specific version you are running, however, will depend both on the version of Windows OS you have installed and the DirectX version supported by your graphics adapter.

The first time you run this tool, you will be asked whether you want to check to see if your video drivers have been signed by Microsoft. Go ahead and click Yes. The tool will not change the drivers you’re using. It will just let you know whether they are signed or not. In general, using signed drivers provides a more stable and reliable environment.

This first page shows the system information and at the bottom of this image, you can clearly see version 11.3 is listed.
This game requires 10 or higher, I think?

If your GPU is on the motherboard it should appear like this, notice the DAC type says "integrated" which is whatever was put on at the factory.
Since this example is Nvidia and has 7 GB of RAM at its disposal there should be little issue of playing this game with it.

If you have a GPU with limited memory, it can be tested by the utility.
Also notice this one is limited to only 512 MB of RAM and would be choppy at best and you would be lucky to get 10 frames per second.
