If Cryptic kills a Quest, remove it for pity's sake

I understood that the quest "Inside Every Spider" was no longer offered (as per the Oct 30 patch notes):
"Inside Every Spider: This quest is no longer available."

But I cannot even turn it in! For pity's sake, if you are going to remove it completely, get rid of the quest from our lists! I spent extra time gathering the blasted spider sacs and I now have 11 of these things taking an inventory slot plus an uncompletable quest in my journal. (and yes, I know I can discard them and drop the quest - but it is a principal thing!)
I know you can do it Devs, how many times have we logged in and we get the message "Your Quest HAMSTER has been dropped/reset, we are sorry..."??? Small rant, but professionalism, please, people.
