So, I'm in the gold-grind phase of professions. (Anyone that actually does professions, knows what I'm talking about.) I have ten toons creating Sandstone Whetstones. Each toon has 6 stacks of 999 Sandstone +1. Each toon is using Hiae to fill the profession coffer and using Ahia to consume morale (and to maximize output.) Each toon has a level 80 Jewelcrafting, the Artisans, themselves are level 80 and they're all using a Cobalt File +1. The job itself is at 100% proficiency and 100% Focus. Each Sandstone Whetstone requires 2 sandstone.
I'm consuming more sandstone, than I should be. I have some toons that have over 999 Sandstone Whetstone +1, but consumed more than 1998 sandstone. I have some toons that LESS than 999 Sandstone Whetstone +1 but have consumed more than 1998 sandstone.
RNG be damned, 'cos it says I have a 100% proficiency and 100% focus and I haven't seen a single failure either in my box or during morale burns.
What gives?

That being said, a few months ago the devs revalued the quartz ring such that it may be more attractive vs Brass rings. The Sandstone/Quartz ratio is 1:1 so less confusing for inventory.
