dropping to windows

every so long...bout 3-5 minutes..and at random times the game tries to minimize to windows. Not sure why...if im in maximized the game starts to chug and loose control of my toon for bout 3 seconds. Anyone got a clue whats goin on? My cursor when in minimized mode has the spinning *working* circle on it non stop.
