I know Rogues have benefitted with the class revamp in mod 16, which is nice (for rogues at least). However, I've played around with both paragons and it feels like you are stuck with Assassin if you want to achieve any kind of dps. Looking at just the at-wills for this post, Duelist flurry simply out does all other at-wills in both paragons by a long way.
Ok, I am slightly biased here as I have never liked the animation for DF. It feels clunky and too long and you look just plain silly when an enemy wanders off in the middle of the attack. I always used sly-flourish in
previous mods, which wasn't too far behind DF then.
Anyway, I like the playstyle of Whisperknife more than Assassin as you can maintain stealth fairly consistently and it has more ranged options. Where it falls over is the ranged at-wills are all pretty meh. Even sly-flourish (non-ranged), which seems to do a bit more damage than the rest, is still nowhere near as good as DF. Disheartening strike looks good on paper, but actually ticks too slowly to be of great help most of the time (plus has a relatively slow cast time). That leaves Cloud of steel and shuriken throw, which both seem to do tiny amounts of damage in practice (although, according to the tooltip, it feels they should be better, or at least on a par with DF).
Even with the 7.5% damage boost feat for ranged abilities slotted, that doesn't seem to help much especially when you take into account you need to be stood within melee range to actually get the full 7.5% bonus.
With the longer encounter cooldowns in mod 16, we are relying on at-will more. That leaves Assassin and DF as the only real viable option for rogues.
Whilst I'm posting about Rogues here, I am aware that other classes have a similar issue with only one paragon and certain powers actually being viable, which is a pity as the changes to combat in this mod were meant to go some way towards allowing for a greater build diversity across classes.

And DF doesnt really do that much dmg. DF is great, but not because of the dmg, but because of the bleeding. And bleeding is only good on bigger mobs, longer fights. Outside of that gloaming cut is ur go to. But that one is also only in assassin.
The feats on assassin are also better, more dmg multipliers than in WK.
WK is still viable and can get the job done. Its just no where near the dmg of assassin. But thats how it is with all DPS/DPS classes. 1 good path, and 1 bad path.
It would be nice to get them closer. But i doubt its gonna happen, cause thats how its always been in NW.
