There has been an issue since M16 launched where critters don't do additional damage when they critical hit a player.
This has been adjusted with M17 so that they do 50% more damage when they crit.
This could affect the balance of some of the critters in the game so if you see any critter who's attacks (especially non-splat or non-avoidable attacks) are now dealing critical damage too high to deal with, please report it here so that we can investigate.

Check the posts in the Patch note thread, the increasead damage of the critters is near 300%. I was testing the changes in the early levels of the campaing as new player, Blacklake is almost imposible to do, if you not are a tank, with that crit severity. Reduce it or better: please remove it. Don't do the same mistakes as mod 16.
