The Stronghold Temple structure has long been popular with many guilds because of the Lifesteal boon, but with the lifesteal stat removed in Mod 16, that old boon has been replaced with an Awareness boon (counter stat to combat advantage). An obvious question is whether the Temple is still worth having?
The choice is somewhat a function of the multiple choice options we must choose from for Stronghold offense, defense and utility boons. Many will likely say that the Power and Hit Point boons are the most important and that the Mount Speed boon is a quality of life boon that would be very tough to give up. So that means the Barracks, Wizard's Workshop, and Stables seem safe from destruction.
So what about the Temple? Besides Awareness, it offers the Revive Sickness and Group Heal from Potions boons. That later one could actually be handy to switch to for dungeon runs, since healing is now back in style for Mod 16. Somewhat similar to the logic for Sheppard's Devotion, we would have all the party members helping to heal each other. Revive Sickness could be useful too since we are now allowed 5 chances to be brought back to near death. Previously we only had one chance.
Some guilds don't even have the Temple at all, as they opted instead for the Explorer's boons, which includes the Treasure Hunter boon, craved by Mastercrafters. And if your guild has a Mastercrafter willing to make items for other guild members, then this boon could be really helpful for anyone to be able to more efficiently gather resources for items they wish to have crafted. But professions has seen more changes in Mod 16 and I'm not sure if those items are as in high of demand as they were during Mod 15. Thoughts?
PVP guilds might obviously want to build structures for PVP boons.
There is also the Mercenary Outpost which offers the Crit Severity boon, but I tend to think people will want the Power boon more.
It seems to me like the Temple is worth keeping, but please let me know if you think differently.
