++interact crashes the game

robai#6206 robai Member Posts: 365 Arc User
For 2+ years I was using
/bind Delete ++interact
for all toons and it always worked (opened doors, chests, while ignoring players, which was perfect).

Now the game crashes if I try to click on the door or use Signpost with Del key.
Crashed several times (waited for all the checking files, didn't help).

Using F key works though (haven't crashed so far).

System: Windows 8.1, 64 bit.

After pressing "Restart Neverwinter" button I've got this message:

But after pressing Ok button the launcher has started.
(I usually play Neverwinter without launching Arc if that matters)

    Thanks for this, will check it out.

    Edit: This solved my problem

    You are welcome!

    In my case this
    /bind Delete InteractAndLoot
    solves the problem (just need to do it on all toons).

    Since it's very annoying to play the game when you interact players instead of opening doors/chests I've just checked if
    /bind Delete ++interact
    was fixed.

    Test result:
    - it's NOT fixed yet, the game still crashes

    So I have to use
    /bind Delete InteractAndLoot
    again until it will be fixed.

    Please fix this bug or give us another option to open doors/chests WITHOUT interacting with other players.

    A good example where it's needed is this (which is another problem, that should be solved):
    https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter#/discussion/1247154/bad-design-of-npc-or-chest-locations
    (isn't it annoying when you interact other players when trying to loot Ndemo chests?)

    Hey there, it might be worthwhile checking out the other interact commands.

    /interact # Interact no player
    /interactandloot # Interact default
    /interactincludevolume # Interact nearby
    /interactcursor # Interact cursor

    have you tried using interact without the ++ (++ typically toggles state, and I always secretly wondered about why interact was toggle-able... it worked without toggle just fine)?

    Edit: Poor man's solution is to look to the sky. Not all intractable items are infinitely tall, but many are (most doors, some chests), so just looking straight up as you stand nearby will allow you to cleanly interact with them, even if there are players crowding around.

    Thank you very much dupeks!

    Just tested
    /bind Delete interact
    and it works:
    1) opens doors/chest/bank/NPC/etc.
    2) doesn't interact with players
    3) no game crash
