So you have the choice to play as an NPC. Why bother trying to get armor and weapons? Instead talk a gullible hero into doing your tasks for you. Easy to learn mechanics of standing around and spamming the same repeatable phrase over and over while you wait for one of those not so genius heroes to happen by. Your only equipment is an exclamation point that you display over your head. Don't worry about memorizing any lengthy story behind your task because the hero won't bother to listen nor would they remember why they are even doing the task for you. Just make sure you have 2 or 3 copper pieces ready when they complete the task you have for them.
