@lordseth1985 the bosses are the same as anywhere, they drop random stuff. You geat Seals of the Mountain and the ones you need for buying the new artifact sets.
But the random drops from them include some of the best gear in the mod, most of it is 950 iL, but some is 1K iL and the rewards for completing the Expeditions go up to and include an Artifact Weapon Set.

You said the right word... RANDOM. Or I'm really unlucky or the rng isn't working wai. All i got was blue armor from those expeditions, after a really long time.

I just run 0 Rune Expeditions to gear characters up, have done it 4 or 5 times now, I have a stockpile of 950 gear...

The "Call of the Undermountain" has a major flaw, and unless it gets changed/removed, I strongly recommend avoiding any armor with that "feature".
The problem is that those summoned creatures seem intent on getting in the way between you and your targets, meaning that if you are using a single-target at-will, you have a high chance of accidentally targeting them and then you will just get a "Hunter is not a valid target" or something like that.
Avoid...avoid...avoid...
Don't you have a flag "not selectable by player offensive powers" or something like that? Those summoned creatures are much more hassle than they are worth.
If you purchase a Slime-Covered Gear Pack from the campaign store it can drop level 79 gear for level 80 toons.
It also can drop quest awarded gear.
In my case it dropped the Wretched Ward Shirt.
Also having the Artifact Weapons as a random drop from an apparently quite large table (having 2 sets of Red-Feather Gear and at least 1 set of Ebonized Gear, and Prized gear at a minimum, in addition to the "nothing" outcome that comes up quite often) makes them essentially an untenable proposition. They would be much better suited to being in the store for a reasonable price.

This has been an issue with powers like Vengeance Pursuit since mod 2 and Bane since (presumably) mod 6.

The Wyllowwood quest where you meet the sword now awards companion gear that is worse than the ones that Nerverember awards at the start of Undermountain. The same problem happens with Claws of Malar quest.
It being the same iL as Neverember's gift, but offering different stats would be good!

Having finally run 10 of the 17 Master Expeditions needed to be certain of getting any Rune-Charged orb I remain incredibly disappointed by the Rune Equipment.
Yes the Ruined versions rain from the sky like confetti, but you cannot sell or refine them so they drop far to much.
Then there is the cost of upgrading them: You need 1 Rune-Charged Orb these are BTC and you must farm Master Expeditions to get them. There is no certainty you will ever get the orb you need! Once you have that each one requires 600 of 2 Essences, which means you cannot use those essences in MEs until you have more than 600....
Then you need 125k AD.
For all of that effort you 965 gear.
It’s not even close to being worth the effort in comparison to Spy and it’s not as good as Protege gear.
This stuff needs it’s requirements seriously downgraded (eg Any Orb, 60 of 2 Essence, no AD) or it needs to be upgraded to 1k iL or be immune to scaling effects.
Then it might be worth getting.

Actually it works, but the tooltip is wrong, it buffs Defence not Power.
