Companion stat loss

I have the owl bear pup as my summoned on my gwf and also have the chult tiger. I have seen the chult tiger is the best to have equip but when i do i lose almost 10k on on my power stat.

Is this because of the adorable thing on the pup? And is the chult tiger a good enough to have summoned and lose all that power?. I am confused on one being better then the other when i lose so much power.

    Look up "Bonding Runestone, Rank 12" in the AH... Augments (like the owlbear) can't activate them.
