"Away message" for chat would be a nice feature...

Hey. I was thinking today about a chat feature which Neverwinter could really use, it would make a great useful feature for our players and I wanted to suggest it. Neverwinter chat is extremely customizable and one of the best I have ever seen online, but it is missing one thing. In another online multiplayer platform I play, not a MMORPG but still an online world where players run around with avatars and have a chat window like here, they have an "away" message you can use, it is for when someone you are friends with pvt messages you but you are AFK, you have the option to check a box to activate it, and an entry field to write a short preset message telling people you are not at the keyboard, well you can say anything, but it's an auto reply function which you can compose at your leisure and then check the box to make it work when you go afk and when someone pvts you, it automatically responds with your message. This way they know you are not reading them and can make allowances. It can say when you are coming back etc.

Before I was to and fro-ing with a friend and we were both going either afk or doing pug queues continuously, coming back and then going again, and it was a bit clunky to navigate, neither of us knew if the other person was there or not unless we manually explained, but we were having a long conversation which we needed to continue and had to deal with it. I thought then it would be nice to have that feature, all we would have had to do then was click the box and go do our thing and it would have auto-replied when the other person sent the pvt and each of us would have known the other had gone again/what they were doing.

I believe most chat windows online in these things are pretty similar (many of them have the /me thing to emote or write in diff colour text etc for example), so I am wondering if it would not be straightforward to just put this feature in as I have seen elsewhere. It's a little thing, but I think it would be very liked and used by the community. It would be very handy when you are suddenly off to do a queue or quest and can't chat but won't be long. Often you are chatting with people but just have to go suddenly or miss the queue you have been waiting for 20 minutes to do, or you need to go afk for a bit but are coming back and want to let them know this. This feature would take care of that.

Cheers. :-)
