2x Refining Stones Canceled?

There was supposed to be a 2x refining stone event starting on the 27th but it's no longer showing on the in game calendar. Is this event still going to happen or no?

    ya thats smethin else i gont get lol lookin at this pic evn the free item claim says it dont strt til 25th yet its been runnin for last three days now lol

    Actually it is on the calendar on the right, sort of. The boxes are fixed size and there isn't enough room to show all the events. If you hover the cursor to the space right below the box for 12/28, you will see the 2xstones event in the tool tip.

    Always look at the up coming event. The calendar in the right can not fix all the events within the small box.

    This event has been deemed "Too popular" by the developers and as a result of feedback on the forums about the new fishing in the winter festival it has been replaced by the new "Double Fishing" event. During this event the challenge of fishing will be doubled, while the rewards remain the same. In addition a new "tier V" fishing reward has been introduced, the "old boot", which can be thrown at enemies when the player feels especially frustrated by the game. Enjoy!

    (Sarcasm off here .... the double Refining Stones event still shows on my calendar from Dec 27-Jan 3. The calendar does not appear to be able to handle the sheer number of events the devs have packed into that week).

    you also can "double click" on the day/date of the actual calendar and a list of the events will pop up, but the 2x is definitely still scheduled as far as I've seen
