Ravenloft Gear Enchantment Downgrade?

Last week, I had my CW begin the Ravenloft campaign. I received a gear set slotted with level 8 enchantments and got to work. A few days later, I then had my Ranger begin the Ravenloft campaign as well. However, the Ranger received a gear set slotted with level 6 enchantments.

Is this a bug or just an unannounced rebalancing downgrade of enchantments?

Side note: I've also noticed a difference in enchantment quality in drops inside Barovia when using the Fey Blessing. Does Fey Blessing still scale with areas or is a continued refinement of the Fey Blessing now required to get higher-ranking enchantments to drop?

    As @spunkmeier said, this is intended. It was definitely stated at the time.

    Fey Blessings drop enchantments scaled to the level of the mob. This is why the Cult of the Dragon mobs in Lostmauth drop low level enchants, level 60 mobs in Siege or Summer Fest drop rank 4s. By level 70 and up, mobs drop rank 5s.

    Have you experienced anything differently?

    Thanks for the quick response, folks!

    I wasn't aware of the one-time-only effect of Ravenloft's gear receiving r8s. Glad it wasn't a bug.

    RE: Fey Blessings - I usually get r5s dropping but on rare occasions, I've seen r6s and r7s dropping in the higher more difficult campaigns.

    The only time I've seen r6 and r7 from utility enchants are from QM and that is a different mechanic entirely.

    Agreed. I've been running Feys for years and never, ever, has anything higher than a R5 enchantment dropped on any of my toons.

    Fey Blessing can't drop rank 7. I am using that enchantment for more than 4 years and still have to see something above rank 5.

    Are you sure you're not seeing boss drops? R6 and R7 enchants can drop as a reward from bosses in Castle Never and higher dungeons. The easy way to tell them apart is the bind status: Fey Blessing drops are bound to account, boss drops are unbound.

    (Also, adding my voice to the chorus: the Fey Blessing *never* drops anything over a 5.)
