Orcus Set vs. Dex + Company Set for Hunter Rangers - T9 ACT Log Comparisons and Charts

UPDATE: Since posting this information yesterday, it has been pointed out to us by multiple people that this test does not qualify as a "controlled test" and so the resulting data is therefore not reliable for being able to draw any definitive conclusions. That said, the use of ACT logs and paingiver charts were merely intended to corroborate these runs and show that the Orcus set isn't necessarily all that superior to the Dex set.

Here are test results courtesy of our friends from the HR Discord group (Meer [our HR for the tests] and Normal Archer #3 [PC gamer tag RJC9000] who pulled together the data [with thanks to PC gamers Jumpingmorks, Thestia and Pitshade for their much appreciated help on the runs]) providing a comparison of the Orcus set vs. Dex + Company set. Meer played Combat HR and used each set for entire separate T9 runs and below you can see the ACT logs with their respective performance against each boss plus the final pain giver charts. The results were marginally better with the Orcus set. If you just compare the two Orcus boss fights, the Orcus set was better by +0.7% damage.

So what does this mean? Two things really. First, if you have the Orcus set already, then it could be useful (and BIS) for a small boost in damage output when running end-game dungeons. In that case, ideally you'd run both sets (Dex for mobs and Orcus for bosses), but again it will not make all that much difference. If you don't have the Orcus set, there are certainly many other things you can obtain that will net you a much greater impact on your damage output. So with that being said, the Dex + Company set is still a BIS choice. Plus, it is far far easier to acquire than the Orcus set.

Orcus is a viable choice for Combat and Archer, but not Trapper because the Orcus set still does not work with roots.

Note: The 2nd time (Dex) was not entirely consistent with the 1st (Orcus) due to wait time between bosses, plus the party did all 3 puzzles and time to complete between them varied because of puzzle RNG and color call time.

@jonkoca Well, I have been noodling on something for PVP and could write it up. I don't think I'll do a complete build exactly. It is experimental and would need someone to go test it out. Hmmm, I wonder who would be available for that.

I just updated the post because of concerns that were raised. I feel some people have misunderstood the intention behind the test. Maybe it was not clear from how this was presented, and that is our fault. So I just updated the post to be a little more clear on this.
