Chain of scales

I have the chain of scales rank 1 but in order to upgrade it i need the Resilient abomination scale, but I've done fane for 6 straight weeks and it doesn't drop. What should i do? discard the chain to start the process again? I play on PC.

    I got the scale before I got the chain in the same run.
    I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

    O.o I thought it was a definite drop. How are you doing your Fane? Did you miss the drop maybe? You might not get your chain if you discard it. Maybe it'll drop only once and you missed it on the first run. Contact support probably.

    Scales tend to pop right into inventory. The only thing to pick up is the Chain after the fight with the witch at the end.

    No, those first scales you need to pick up too, from what I remember. But from my experience, they only ever dropped if you're soloing Fane (at least to that 1st miniboss which drops the scales).

    If you do your very first Fang with a party, you could lose the scale if your party member (who already picked up his/her own chain and scale in his/her first run) picked that up instead of you.
    After that, I don't think you can get that back. And, the party member cannot pass that to you either because it is character bound.
