EMPTY ZONES

asa#5821 asa Member Posts: 16 Arc User
I've never seen the Zones so empty , I sat for 40 min. trying to get in 6 different epic dungeons before I gave up ... people are leaving the game and finding new games , its unreal just how empty the PORT was tonight , even the guild alliance , I think people are unhappy with the coming changes , so much so they are leaving before it hits us ... ecspecially the AD slash , people like me now have 10 or more worthless Alts that aren't going to be worth getting on now , hask and slash , this time I think the DEV's out played their source of income , to bad a game I once enjoyed has been hacked and hacked and hacked until ita just tedious nowadays , they've taken until theres no more to take , trying to force people to buy ZEN , those like me that didn't mind buying it now and then have stopped buying it completely , you can't earn it by grinding so why buy the extra you need , its all buy anymore nerf the one thing that made the game worth grinding . IDK many more dead nights in the ZONES like tonight they'll be no sense in logging in , can't sit for hours to try to get in a QUE , waste of time ... I hope they figure something out because the way it stand NEVERWINTER appears to be dying on XBOX .

I've been saying the same for awhile - lot of people "cashing" out on trade chat.

Edited to add. I don't see how it's beneficial to create an environment in which players are essentially limited to an overall daily grind/task/objective (Astral Diamonds). All this does is push them to other sources of entertainment; and they may not come back. How does this make sense?

Don't worry, Ravenloft will bring in a flood of people, both old and new.

Also all MMO's are like this in the summer, seen this every year, people are out doing real life stuff vacations runs to the beach Barbeques etc etc etc. Once the weather worsens (new mod or not) players will return. All my alts are now done with Chult and maxed so given I have nothing to do, doing some photography in this glorious weather held more attraction to me :)

In addition to this, most MMOs have a bit of a slump just before new content. People take breaks. It's not a big deal.

If you start with the assumption that your income is only in the form of rAD gained by running an army of undergeared alts through random dungeons, then yes - you have a problem.

Maybe you should consider other sources of income? AD from the AH is not subject to a weekly cap, after all.
    Hoping for improvements...

I completely agree. I've made more on PC since the changes that I do on Xbox currently.

I have 11 toons all are 10K to 18K lvl 70's most are without enchantments , and I rarely run them thru random dungeons , but I do salvage with them .... but seriously your reply is rather mote , in oder to sell @ AH you have to have quality items to sell , the drop rate of itemsfrom Dungeons is nearly non existant making this blahhh , or grinding professions which is tedious and the items needed to created good equipment is AD rich , either way your comment is silver spoon

@adinosii 's advice still stands. Plenty of players profit from the AH without selling their own items.

Also, there are plenty of things to do with the Alts. I use mine for extra storage, crafting items my stronghold needs in the coffer. I use them to buy the lower level crafting items that my main needs to craft the upper level crafting items, without spending their own guild marks. Alts are still useful.

I have been working on getting my salvage out of the way. But in the meantime I have used my Alts to help my Main to do crafting and made over 300,000 AD selling items and excess materials on the AH.

Sure I am not happy with the changes, I will not be running dungeons like I use to, I imagine that many players will not either. How that effect the RQs we will have to see. Consoles and PCs work a little different, Cryptic has chosen a one size fits all attitude to the game. Whether it works, only time will tell.

But Cryptic had made its bed and will have to sleep in it. In the future they may have to change the sheets if the changes cause too many problems.

Just no. My alt's are all over 10k with no boons, and I don't make my AD by running RQ. Nor, is this specifically about me. I just pointed out that I can't see how it's beneficial, from a business perspective, to streamline\minimize a players time in game. The entire player base is not going to being able to find "other" sources of income - wouldn't this lead us right back to where we are? I'm on console. So, surely by now for PC what is Cryptic able to report as far as player time by account?

A lot of us who've abandoned RQ were on our way out anyway, or already out because of previous changes - not so much the incoming ones, though those look like they'll only make things worse. We were sick and tired of being treated like npcs by afkers, leeches, and RAD farmers - and dismayed by how quickly they inculcated so many new players. Now the RQs are overrun with them. It's like a filthy pool. They can toss in as many quarters and dimes as they want, but it's not enough to entice us back in. Clean the scum from the water, first.

As far as extra character slots go, as long as invoking stays the same, I'll always have a use for them.

Considering how this happens every time a mod is about to be released, it isn't an issue. Our alliance still runs content, our guild still runs all content. Adinosii was absolutely correct about multiple AD sources and it was not from a silver spoon.
The changes will essentially make the ad you earn more valuable in time once everything settles.

it's not that empty. yes slump of people playing. like everyone is said, end of summer, right before a new mod. it's always a little quiet. I have not seen people in pe offering to give away all their stuff like there was during coalgate lol. I have not seen an exodus from guild or alliance.

Currently I'm not in game much but it's right before a new mod hits. there just isn' tmuch to do. starting tomorrow I'm gonna be treating this game like it's a job for four days though. lol

Not starting tomorrow... 8 hours down time, all platforms. You might want to wait one more day for that, cat.

tomorrow at noon isn't it? 2x enchant? 8 hours downtime doesn't really effect anything other than 2 hour later start no?

Good point. Though, that is *if* everything goes well and they get the servers back up on time.
