changing Vigil was a bad call, not the right fix players were looking for.

i am aware that it shouldnt be base on other players to get quest completed.

as i played yesterday after the patch, it got worst than it was intended, killing 3-4 clusters of mobs just to get 1 % earned, handing in a quest give almost like 5%, this is "daily", to get it done, it take 3-4 hours per character if played hardcore.

these daily are designed for solo.

as of now, i see one of my alts had 87% in 2 days of processing.

just my opinion, those vigil/trail need to be ease down, i still have 2 other alts still in 30% in 2 days, some dont have weeklies unlocked.

anyone dont like these changes, seem too drastic and tailored made for hardcores. please let devs to know, it is bad call to lower to this extreme time scaling.
i rather go back to summer festival and get Sune's Favor once a day, since Ravenloft released, i hardly had time to do the festivals, if i skip barovia, and finding my alts too far behind in new zones while doing festivals, when i started to see signs of playing in ghost town zones when you cant find random help in River Distict and way too many players are sick of it and fed up with that zone.

all i am asking to look over and just enough to keep players happy within reasonable time frames.

If you do the quests, HE, etc, it does not take hours to get 100% and it does not need to be hardcore. My 5th character got it done yesterday. My 6th character got that done tonight. Both within an hour.

Before the patch, the daily vigil was ridiculous. There were times I'd pick up the quest, then start resetting my professions task, and the daily would be completed before I finished resetting the tasks. Wham bam thank you ma'am!

Now it's ridiculous the other way. I did two weeklies and I'm at 40%. WTH? The weeklies give only 20%? I don't know what regular quests gives. I haven't done any regular quests since I unlocked CR. Just doing the weeklies until I get all my boons.

I would not go kill mobs to advance the vigil. Just do quests. But some quests you have to kill so many mobs...

I already finished the weekly quests and reached haul limit for my 6 characters for the week.
Anyway, I have just played one character, a OP who is still in the Barovia to check out the Vigil.

    It appears:
    10 kills to get 1%
    Small HE 5%
    Big He 25%
Quest: I don't know because it does not come out until you give it back to the quest giver. I will keep that for next week.
Weekly Quest: I don't know because it is done.

    So, I did:
    2 small HE (10%)
    1 big HE (25%)
One quest, "Tracking the beast" (0% for now because I did not submit it)
For the various kills done by a OP doing the above. (3%)

In half an hour, I got 38% on the book + whatever the "Tracking the beast" quest would give me.

All quest turn ins, whether they are weeklies, repeatables or found quests give 20%. Even story mode quests like Castle Ravenloft sunsword tutorial do. It isnt as good if you were just going there to do one or two things, but just doing enough repeatables to get 25 omens will complete the quest even if you could somehow avoid killing mobs.

Plasticbat, i can confirm, one weekly give about 20#%, did one last night.

maybe i dont understand what is vigil suppose to do exactly

i think Plasticbat did right thing by testing and provide a list, would be happy when you confirm after next week monday results, thank you.

I think pick up quest like the ones with the doll or the wine only give 10%.

Barovian Vigil was ok before this update, and it only finished fast if you were in an instance with enough active players in it. The one thing they should have changed, only give credit to players that were actually playing and not just standing around in town.

At this point i'd suggest to turn this thing into a weekly quest with increased rewards.

Keep Barovia safe. Do quests. Engage HEs. Kill stuff. Get some stuff for doing it.

I also found that doing hunts also speeds up completion of the Barovia Vigil quest.

hm, will have to look at hunts and how much "value" to earn for vigil.

That's the ticket. Doing a variety of things in Barovia will get it completed faster. I just go there and do what I do and before I know it I am done. It's only 150 coins reward anyway, not a big deal. And I will admit, previously the quest completed stupid fast.

I did not even know it was not WAI until I saw the patch note. I was trying to figure out what the "formula" behind it was. I would not imagine it was triggered by other people's activity. I was thinking about: was it some kind of combination of time spend, XP earned, .....
It was a decent source of rAD for doing not much for my characters.
