I have two gold weapons and have acquired new weapons - Is there a way for me to transfer the progress I made refined my current weapons into the new - other than getting the reduced refinement points from the current and refining the new?

No. unfortunately, you can only start over on the new weapons and take the reduced convert to RP on the old weapons.
