Unable to complete the Direfang hunt

After defeating DireFang, the quest path said to enter the portal. I found a portal in the Vistani camps and entered it. I left the hunt instance and appeared in a normal Barovia instance. The quest still said to enter the portal. No portal showed. I could not enter Madam Eva's tent. It said I need a Direfang poster. I have another wanted poster but am unable to start the hunt.

To restart the hunt, you have to talk to the guy outside the tent again, I have no idea why

I already did that. It did not work. After the maintenance today, the quest was reset. I was did Direfang a 2nd time and it completed this time. Got a 2nd 1-star posted out of the hunt. I guess that was a bonus
