Another complaint about Fane

So after completing Fane of the Night Serpent again for what...the fourth or fifth week in a row? More? I've gotten yet another +1 ring. The lag in this little dungeon is bad enough, it makes the boss almost impossible for my CW to solo reliably, but the fact that I've gotten literally nothing out of all these runs is ridiculous. Every single time I've gotten nothing but a +1 ring. Which I suppose is better than the no ring that we got for the first few weeks, but it's still a slap to the face, especially if we can only try for one a week. Am I just horribly unlucky? Or are the drop rates in there just that bad? Or maybe my perceptions are skewed since I can only try once a week, so it just seems like worse luck than it actually is.

You get 25 lost idols and 40 Omu treasures.

Eh. The treasures are pretty much useless and can be gotten easy enough from other sources. Same with the idols at this point. The only real reason to suffer through Fane is the ring.

I got a +5 on my 1st run, and since then I got nothing. So it really is random. Who could've told that RNG is random.

Well, I would guess the chances would be about 1/100 for +4 ring, 1/20 for +3 and 1/4 for +2 (as I used every chance to go to fane on 3 chars up till now and got one +3 ring, roughly 4 +2 and the rest was +1).

But I agree - the moment you get what you want in fane, you are not going back there any more. It will just turn into another HoC - yes, unique map where developers probably tried their best, but problematic and with no chance for useful reward at the end. (= you can earn the currency faster and easier elsewhere)

It is funny, as for example dungeons in Dread Ring will probably outlive HoC and Fane by long margin, as there is a chance for drop of still valid and in large quantities demanded rewards.

I do fane on 4 chars. As it is I have 1x+5 ring, 2x+4 rings and several +3. It is luck, pure and simple. I did not get one +4 ring from over 120 treasure maps and next week 2x +4 rings and the week later the +5 ring. It is boring grind and luck nothing more or less.
Chars: CW, DC, GF, GWF, HR and TR.

Quoted for truth - why create content that has no longevity? The +1 rings are worth 2000 salvage. wow. Deep joy. I ran 2 x Dread Ring lairs and got 2 Superior Stones worth 40000 in total. Where's the logic in Fane?

I also scored a +5 ring on my one and only run so far.

I'm still progressing through the Omu boons, so I'll keep playing Fane weekly for the lost idols. Once I'm done though - probably not anymore.

It is this player's humble opinion that perhaps superior enchanting stones should be added to all campaign lairs, with the same drop chance as exists from Dread Ring. These lairs are once per week so the value of stones shouldn't be effected too much and they would retain their usefulness beyond campaign completion.

As far as the rings from Fane go I know quite a few people (myself included) who have been running it 2 or 3 or 4 times per week since it became available and have yet to receive anything better than a +3 ring. Are these rings necessary in any way? absolutely not, but when you walk away with nothing its not particularly pleasant.

Fane has had a shadow of negativity surrounding it since it became available. From the horrible lag (which still isnt completely fixed) to the quest not rewarding additional rings the first few weeks (I personally lost 3 chances at a ring from this) to the "I can teleport 20 times per second" annoyance of the final boss. I don't think anything could be done to wash away the stained reputation of this Lair. Probably best if we all just forget it exists and just wait until the next mod is released and hope that it actually gets tested well enough to not be a complete cluster*cluck*.

The salvage value of the rings is set by the game. The AH prices for the SES are set by the players.
