So with that said, one of the main reasons to play this game is for the dungeons, but after 3-7 crashes per dungeon in CN, and newer dungeons, thats been taken away. Currently running Net Uptime Monitor, not my internet, running dual radeons in R9 290 x, not my graphics which are independently watercooled, Rampage 5 MB, few terabytes of storage, and so on, tried everything from running clock blocker on vid cards to flashing bios, not my machine, unfortanately the only thing left is to find another mmo that is stable since none of the others i have played has had this continual problem for almost 2 years now.
Thanks for the memories.

Red is running dual Radeons (brand name graphics cards) I have a Radeon in this desktop, and they are not very compatible with Neverwinter or the game is not Radeon friendly (your choice). My husband is going to buy me an Nvidia next month to replace this one. The issue is floppy bits of cloth flicker a bit, sometimes texture lose their color. Not a big issue, but I asked my hubby to look and he says it is the "HAMSTER" Radeon drivers, which is his words not mine. I don't blame Radeon or the company that makes it, the software/hardware industry is very competitive about insuring their cards work and only work for the ones they sink money into supporting. This means when you boot up that game and it says, "Nvidia the way games are meant to be played" they really mean to say, "If you are not playing with an Nvidia card, we will break both your legs and run you over.".
Red is also running a high end machine from the sound of it. But this game wasn't running so well on my new Windows 10 HP, so my husband set it up on an older spare Windows 7 PC he had laying in the LAN room. So I can vouch, that Neverwinter doesn't work well with new PCs and Radeon cards. I don't know about clock blocker on video cards or flashing bios?? But my resident geek is out of the house today on business.
But I was getting crashing on the NVidia EVGA GT 1030 2 GB which was using 388.13 Drivers from that were current up to Feb 2018. I'm also running Windows 10 as well on 64 bit processor & OS like I'm sure most people are.
Still it seems top end AMD Radeon's sound like they also have issues with crashing from time to time. They really need to FOCUS on fixing rendering issues with textures &/or things that cause the game to crash. They too regularly have had various issues that randomly cause crashing of the game client for a number of years and it often takes months to correct if your lucky.

Goodness Cryptic: A big thing go long way to correct rendering:
╘ Allow you to select the MAX Weapon &/or Armor FX Visuals render rank you see for everybody.
♥ Max Armor Render Quality: R7-R13 applied Globally to everyone on that computer.
♥ max Weapon Render Quality: R7-R13 applied Globally to everyone on that computer.
Similar to how today everyone can choose what Companions skin, only this would apply to everybody... So if you set Armor at R8, you'd see it's normal visuals at R7, and then again increase to R8 but nothing render's higher, regardless what quality or rank of enchantment was slotted. Or for Weapon's if you set to R9 so they increase up to that but no higher for you or others.
Then you'd not see the massive bright flashes, overdone whiteness, or many other effects. I stop using most enchantments simply because I don't like bark flying around me, or seeing the 3 white shields circling me, I wish I could even TURN THEM OFF on most. I don't even like the look of bark circling me even if I think the Enchantments offer nice bonuses. So many are far too overdone on FX I find I wished I could often greatly tune them down or OFF entirely!
My goodness Vorpols may cause Siezures for some people with their constant bright flashes on every enemy they hit especially once they get to R9 or greater. Dread, Terror, and others cause dark area's, and not everybody enjoys seeing them, or find they destroys far more than it actually enhances. I'd rather just see most of my armor &/or weapon without FX, or set them to 50%-75% transparent, or a maximum render rank for FX globally.
Something makes me think Cryptic has bitten off more than it can chew. They have a total of 3 games and are now at work on Magic the Gathering MMO for WoC. Unless they are running hire mode, I don't see how the company can juggle 4 games in the future, not to mention the ports to popular consoles. When you have a set amount of manpower spreading it too thin can make things even worse.
I can play without crashing in safemode although the game looks horrible, the guy standing at armslength from you is basically a blob, and why only in dungeons is this a problem? Lets take CN for instance, in safemode never crash, with graphics set higher crash at least twice and sometimes crashes when trying to log back on after a crash so your team is naturally in kick me mode. I can switch to mechwarrior online at highest settings with no problems even though they push nvidia cards at log in.
We need help Mr/Mrs Mod, maybe you can buy the engine used in city of villians, not like they are using it anymore, and it performed very well with the graphics almost matching your on except theirs worked.
Thanks in advance for any help at all.
- One is running an older duo core machine with 2 GB of RAM and his graphics was just the built in Intel. He was playing in safe mode until he got a 1 GB graphics card and while I have no idea what the display looks like, he says the game runs much better.
- Another was running this on a Linux machine (that is like Chromebook but not) he said everything worked fine until they forced the Direct X upgrade and he quit playing all together. My husband says that the Linux system it is working now for this game, but he doesn't recommend it unless you also like a lot of mental pain.
- The machine I am on now is HP i-3 core with 4 GB RAM and 1 GB Radeon something running Window 7. Currently the only problem I am having crashing is messing with the Guild Bank. You can see the thread here.
I am not saying your machine or your software is at fault. Just that I can see a trend in the forums about this game being a brat with newer systems and Radeon processors. Most gaming companies don't buy into making their software backwards compatible. It would appear Cryptic doesn't believe in making it forwards compatible either. LOL I agree with you, it would seem the more they fiddle with the game, the more bugs it gets. I seriously doubt they are going to replace the whole engine to fix it.Oh, and sandukutupu, thanks for the fun spirit you apparently have, that saleswoman crack would have pissed any other personality off.
