Can't Complete HoC

in Bug Reports (PC)
So I have done HoC 4 times now. Finish it, touch the shrine and the quests says to return to Celeste. But when I leave HoC the quest changes back to explore HoC. Any ideas?

    Is it the first run of HoC or the weekly? In case it's your first and you run it with other people, are you the one opening the entrance circle?

    First run and I have done it both ways. I have opened it and other people have.

    You are doing the weekly version not the initial story version.


    It doesn't matter who clicks in the door, if anyone in the party has the weekly version, you can end up in their version. There may be two options when you 'look' at the door. If so, the left most option has given me the Story mode one, but that may not always be the case. Regardless, the safe way to do this is to get people to help you who dont have the weekly quest. Finish your quest, the everyone can go to Celeste and come back with the weekly form.

    The quest version is a lot tougher than the weekly version. There is at least one spell is not used in the weekly version. I think it is the arrow that gives you electric shot every few seconds. If you never see that arrow, you are in weekly version.

    First difference is that Story version is always Yuan Ti. Weekly could be YT, goblins or undead. If you see anything other than Yuan Ti, you are in the weekly version.

    Next clue is glowing barrier at the boss. If clicking it takes someone straight to cut scene, it is weekly version. If you have to gather your party, it is story version.

    Finally, boss of Story version is Ras Nsi. If it is Elder Nightmare Speaker, you are in weekly. Ras Nsi speaks in the cutscene. Weekly boss does not.

    Final indication, if there is a cutscene after boss dies, you are in story version. Otherwise weekly.

    I think thats it. I forgot to hit the shrine my first time. And I haven't seen Ras Nsi since. I'll try later when I can log in thank you all for the help.
