Hey all
I’m struggling on completing this task. You need to craft 6 gold ingots from 18 gold nuggets. You need to use 2 gold ore and get a tier 3 result to get a nugget, but even with an epic tool in every slot I can I only get a 20% chance of making a nugget, let alone an ingot. Is there a trick I’m missing to get that % higher? Thanks for looking.

If your trying to upgrade Purple Mastercraft Resources to the Tier of Purple items make sure you use the temporary merchants in an alliance GUILD. The reason for this is in the following example: A Temporary Gold Smith for example allows you to buy various common or uncommon resources, but on the second tab you can also exchange materials for a few extra guild marks. At a Goldsmith Temporary Merchant 4 Gold Ore can be traded for a Gold Nugget if you have unlocked Mastercraft I profession. Now even with the common Mastercraft tool & 3 Mithral ones it only gives a 20% upgrade chances in the profession itself. It be crazy with only a 20% chance to get a Nugget to sacrifice your Gold Ore so go to the merchant and spend 200 more guild marks. Temporary merchants always provide the item (4 of one get 1 of the other) but you spend a few more guild marks in doing so; can be anywhere from 200-600 guild marks depending on the item you need. Might go slightly higher as Mastercraft III-V resources may be added &/or expanded in future.
Hope some of that is HELPFUL from a PC Player to help you XBOX players get more into Mastercraft. Honestly I wish they slightly REDUCE the requirements for being successfully into Mastercraft 2, but I understand it used to be higher at least for the resources before they then reduced it. Now you don't even really have the chance to use prof to upgrade resources only Temporary Merchants...
[Edited to provide an example]
Using this system after reaching MW1, often the only item you need to craft is the final item to reach MW2. The key is having all 8 crafts covered within the guild/alliance at MW1 to use this method and players willing to assist for no profit. Alas, some may want some form of profit for the time/effort.
Then you can earn more guild marks but be careful to only donate enough to get 30,000 then you have to buy or upgrade resources before donating more to the coffer.
If you get to be in a higher level guild or you guilds gets above level 10 or so, you will find that it is almost impossible to donate labor. It is the first thing to get to max in the coffer and stays there except for brief times after building for most guilds. Most guilds in an alliance block incoming labor from other guilds due to this issue. So, for now it may work for you, but eventually you will need another source. We have trouble just making room for the vouchers our members get from SH quests and weekly Dragonflight. Sometimes I build a temp structure that uses labor just to make room.
