Buying zen on Arc instead of via steam wallet

I've only ever purchased zen one time through my steam wallet (installed the game via steam). I'd like to purchase through Arc from now on because it seems to have added benefits, but how would I apply it to my account? Do I need to install Arc and launch the game from there instead of Steam? Or is it more simple than that?

Sorry, I'm sure this is a noob question, I just want to be sure

i just bought 1000 zen through steam wallet as i downloaded the game through steam and now my account is on probation and i cant use the zen to trade to astral diamonds, any idea how long this probation is and if i will be able to exchange after the period.

Until Cryptic gets their money from Steam, which seems be anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. Basically Cryptic won't let you do anything with the Zen that would let you pass items off to other accounts such as through the AH or trade until Steam ponyes up their cash and Steam sometimes takes their sweet time about that.

Once the probation period is up you can use your Zen normally. Be ware!: any item bought for that Zen while it is bound to you will remains bound to after the probation runs out, this cannot be change at all.


tl;dr never buy Zen through Steam
