You also can make gentlemen’s agreements with other sellers. I have done that before selling resources. I kept seeing the same few names undercutting by minimal ad amounts. So we worked out an agreement where we didn’t undercut and just matched buyout prices. It seemed understood that they would undercut me if i undercut them, and so it worked until we were finished selling stuff.

    Otherwise known as, "Price Fixing".
Which will work, until a new player comes on the scene and sets a new lower price because they are happy to take a lower net profit.
The cartel price becomes the plateau and all other vendors will sell lower.

There was a time when certain alchemy resources, farmable to some degree by even new players, fetched more than ten times what they do now. A few people managed to keep the price high by carefully posting different volumes using bulk discount systems.
Eventually people caught on, and now what once earned 20k AD in pure profit, now makes about 1600 AD mainly because people started posting small volume lots below the rate per unit of the very high bulk lots.

Supply vs Demand will always win in the end. There will be opportunities to get good deals, and make great profits, but eventually people will watch, learn, and burst the bubble.
When that happens, you need to either suck it up and take the hit, or look for other opportunities, whether that's coming up with a new idea, or revisiting an old one that may well have cooled down and the price gone back up.

I could post that item if I wanted for 1 AD and there is nothing you or anyone else can do to stop me from doing this. Also, why even make those anymore. The 480 gear and soon 500 gear for the most part are better than the older stuff. That gear is barely better than the underdark gear and that stuff you can get for free by simply playing, same with the Chultan Shirt and Pants.

The AH prices changes daily. One day a brutal 10 on the PS4 was at 390K. The next day it was at 225K. Prices change daily and it is all due to supply and demand. The more supply the lower price as there are more of you competing to sell said product. If there is almost no supply of said product than you can charge more for the product.

For instance when the glorious legendary box first hit PS4 they were selling for around 24million+ AD and now you can get one for a bit over 6 million and when the summer sale was going on they were down to about 4 million. Supply and demand.
