Olds mods certainly aren't dead due to alts and new population still going through it to get boons. But mods are getting old, especially the first ones, where the whole area gears and quests are not even worth watching, resulting in a forgotten area for most people who completed it.
I miss IWD, ToD, RoT, even Sharandar which still gives some refinement rewards, yet I don't bother with it, in the end it's a time waste. Even recents ones. Dungeons/Skirmishes are almost (not all) self-sufficient to give what's needed to make a key task. If not, some of them are not worth spending time (imo, such as Kessel's key). HEs overall get less and less played.
So what about revamping these mods.
The aim would be to put in someone's mind the incentive to run a certain campaign, if not all, to get a certain item, a proper reward(s), useful and not time wasting at any state of the game you're in, from 4k to let's say 16k ilvl.
This could be:
- giving more rewards to dailies (such as RP items like Sharandar), weeklies (RP like old mod ones)
- revisiting :
- trash tasks (look at IWD/DR tasks for example ..) to be useful for any state of the game you're in
- HEs (more RP items again for example, with percentage of having higher RP items)
- profession tasks update.
- introducing new items across all mods with let's say epic master dungeons such as master Tower of Valindra. And I bet it wouldn't be that hard to do. Buff everything, HP, damage, add a few mechanics and it's a step forward. For instance Valindra's boss current mechanics are quite ok for low ilvl ppl but it's ignored because she dies before. Lot more damages/HPs and forced to go through the skull phase, a few more mechanics and it gets challenging (depends of what's added).
What are your thoughts ?

I think revamped graphics, new enemies, new quests and probably the easiest to implement, new dungeon tiers (and the return of old, removed dungeons). Even if the gear you get there isn't BiS, it can still serve a purpose.
