Fishing in Chult, a few questions

Partially out of boredom but also because it sometimes give up lure components, I've been fishing in Chult.

1. Does anybody know where the purple fish are??? I have yet to see one and I've caught all other fish multiple times.
2. Why do the Yellowjackets cost either 1 coin or 15 coins at the vendor? Is there a difference?
3. When angling for lure components, is there a better type of bait, or a place or any other trick for better return? They are few and far between...

    1. I believe you can get epic fishs only with the Glowworm baits (green ones)
    2. Look closer to the prices, it's either 1 Chultan Riches or 15 AD
    3. Didn't really find any difference, lure component rarely drop with both ^^

    I have gotten a single purple fish after much fishing, so they are there but they seemingly have the same drop rate as an orange mount (without the benefits).

    Use the glowworms and keep trying. I've gotten the Angler title on 2 chars and it just takes a little persistence. I think the rate of those are far better than the rate of V's in SoMI to be honest.

    But where are the glowworms purchased? The vendor just has Yellowjackets?

    Edit: Found it. "may be found through gathering nodes in Soshenstar River"

    I got a ton of glow worms (and other junk) but I'm one of those ppl that can't resist those sparkly blue flowers.. or any other resource node for that matter if I see one.. lol

    Glowworms can't be bought, you can only find them on the little blue flowers that pop everywhere in the Jungle.

    Thanks for all the info, guys! Got my first purple fish--Giant Tigerfish--over by the waterfall. Glowworms, of course....

    You have to try sea of ice treasure maps and hope you get the purple fishing pole.

    There is also a Green quality rod in the Mod 10 store, but the Enchanted one is a fairly quick farm. The drop rate at least seems higher than the boat.

    Think the purple rod can also be gotten from zen store or used to be available... or maybe I'm thinking of something altogether different... shrugs.. been a while... don't really like anything in Icewind Dale including SOMI so when I was finished there, never went back and don't care to.... I do seem to remember the purple kayak and purple rod dropping fairly early on tho

    Both purple kayak and purple rod are from map in the bottle. Some people were lucky and could get it with few bottles and some were not as lucky. If you don't buy the bottle, you need to have luck to fish the bottle and then you will need luck to have the bottle that contains the map to the kayak or rod.

    One character got the boat on the first map. Another got it after 130 maps... Later characters, I have forced myself to not worry about it.

    Yeah Maybe Was The Purple Trowel I Was Thinking about... Been A Long time.. Like I said.. Don't Like Anything in ID and never went back once I completed them

    Made Soshenstar Angler today!! Now, about those lure components....
