Is there any real use for the leadership skill? I've been a way for a bit and now I've put some work into the skill and I need to know if it's a waste before going forward. Thanks!
Leadership is for making refinement but it is the slowest of the professions - by far. As such you should only work it once you have 3 other professions over 20, all windows open and use (at least) green ranked 'man-at-arms' or blue ranked 'adventurers' to make sure you're getting more than one cycle in per day.

Leadership is great if you play alts and need to level up the alt gear and do not really play them all that much. I have been level it up on my main now since I started and it is 25 and it is the only profession I am using until all of my characters artifact gear and artifacts reach max rank. After that, I will continue to use leadership for the refinement for enchantments. My only concern with the leadership profession is how it will be impacted by the refinement update.

Unfortunately, they didn't take this opportunity to fix the badly balanced tasks ( Time versus reward value) created when AD was removed and not replaced with anything to rebalance.
The refinement update doesn't really change much. The Artifact, Thaum and Resonant all give An Emerald, Peridot or Sapphire, Then for the second item Thaum give a potency mark (White , green or blue), Artifact gives a potency mark( same ranks) or a white or green enchanting stone, Resonant gives a white or green enchanting stone. So, Artifact has the most possible types, but a lower chance to get a specific type.
The enchanted coffer seems to be about the same, just enchantments removed/replaced. Although, it is the only coffer that has blue enchanting stones as a possible drop.
The lower chests etc, seem to be a decline in rp value with pearls replacing enchantments for the most part. With the loss of double for feeding the same type of enchantment, that makes it seem less desirable to me.

And, leadership is extremely slow leveling, if you still need to open profession slots I recommend leveling something else first.
