I know there is a lot of talk about TR rework and stuff. I just want to share my thoughts with you.
I just changed my main from SW to TR and there are some of the stuff I can't deal with. First of all I know comparing classes is never a way to go but I can't just find another way to explain the stuff.
I don't want to talk about TR being low dmg or stuff like that, I am more then happy with my TR dmg and I like how I need to think 1-2 sec ahead before actually pressing encounter. But somehow the gameplay is both fun and clumsy.
TAB- is there really just for apply of SoD. You apply your SoD, wait till it deals Damage to press TAB again to apply it again. Well it wouldn't be so bad if SoD wasn't actually designed so bad. Yea for main feat it is BAD. It can deal decent damage (mostly 2nd-3rd) of your dmg on boss fight but compare to SW which got his feat as 1st dmg base it is bad. Why is it bad? Not because of Damage but because of way it work.
SoD- It deals no AoE, target need to be alive for 6 sec or it deals no damage, if you need to dodge attack at the time you apply it then once again it will deal no damage.
If you compare SW and TR TAB(feat):
SW- AoE, deals damage every sec, stack
TR- Single, deals no damage for 6 sec, wont stack
Right now TR gameplay is like TAB-encounter- hold DF then press other encounters, wait for stealth and encounter, repeat.
There was threat that said that 100% crit from our stealth is waste of our own crit rate and difference above 100% should be added to crit. severity. I think this dude was right, it is not necessary to be crit. sev. but it should do something. Maybe apply dot worth of extra % damage (like 140% crit chance = 40% of dmg you did will apply as DoT for 5 sec) or those 40% will refill 40% of our stealth meter ( less in PvP for example ) hell even for example - reducing encounter you used in stealth by those 40% above 100% crit chance.Back to SoD- I like it, there is not really much need to rework it whole just change the way it works please. How to fix it:
No AoE- it don need to be full AoE like, you can make it something like , 10% of damage is dealt as AoE in 20 yards. 10% is noting game breaking.
No damage if target die within 6 sec - Instead of debuff on target you can change SoD to be buff on ourselves that will deal it's damage next time we damage an enemy after the 6 sec duration. This way even if the target die after 3 sec we won't lose it's damage because we will just apply it on another target we hit after next 3 sec.
Won't stack- I am not talking it need to stack but there should be some soft cap. (minimum damage it deals) if you are forced to dodge enemy attack and you wont hit this (lets say compare to xx% of power it should deal 200k hit) and you stack damage only up to 140k it will still deal 200kEven though I would welcome more stuff with stealth like applying bleeds on target rather then just TAB-encounter-out of stealth wait 5 sec
