Owl companion bug / issue with Soshenstar

While travelling through Soshenstar River on my mount, my Owl companion gets stuck in trees, rocks, bridges, etc when trying to follow me. I tried other companions and those will appear near me when I dismount -- but the owl will not, and will continue to try to fly (very slowly) to me.

This sounds like the same bugged AI that many flying pets have. Wisp and all 3 varieties of Sprite all do the same thing. Slyph does not. No clue as to the Hawk, Laughing Skull or the Ghost.
