[PC] Auction functionality unavailable to one of the characters

Recently created a new character. I wanted to use the Auction house to buy a few items, but despite having the correct amount of Astral Diamonds, the selection to either bid or buy out is grayed out and if I still try to click, the message is that the auction is closed at this time. This applies to any item in the auction house for this character. My other characters can use the auction house without any issues.
I logged a ticket[170811-000650], but either ARC stopped employing support staff who can read tickets or I just got a bot that picked up the word auction in my ticket and sent me a link describing how auction houses work.
Did anyone else have that problem before? How did you fix it?
