Possible to turn off targeting reticle?

I find the targeting reticle that changes color and hovers over the screen annoying and unhelpful. Is there a way to turn it off? I am assuming not, as there is nothing in the 'Options' screen, but figured I would ask in case I am missing something obvious.

The target is use mostly but magic characters but also sometimes for others, like the tank marking somebody. I wish as well you could turn it off or at least that it would disapear when not in combat. I like to take screenshots and such and this thing always get right on my character everytime and it look bad because of it. Maybe a minor thing and i would certainly not make it my priority on the "to fix list" but still... worth mentioning.
