Storm King's Thunder -- What am I Missing?

Okay, I am still behind in gameplay. But I seem to have come to a dead end in Storm King's Thunder. I've opened Opened Bryn Sander, Lonelywood, Cold Run and Sea of Moving Ice. Completed many quests. Unlocked FBI and Assault and Svarborg. But can't seem to progress in the storyline. I have not completed the Fangbreaker Island group quest.

Am I missing something?

Don't you need to complete FBI to do MSVA? Also, where exactly are you stuck? Are there campaign boxes you haven't opened?

I'm toying with the idea of running STK just to complete the boons, I'm wondering what those three boxes at the top relate to.
Elk tribe, Arcane brotherhood and Giants.

Is it related to sea fishing?

Cos if I need to spend game time doing that, I'm not going to bother.
I can force myself to chop wood and stoke fires, knock on doors to wake people up and even fish the lake in Lonelywood, but I'm not willing to sit in SOMI catching crabs for hours on end.

Each one pertains to a specific activity in those regions. You can fill each box up to 5 times to open the chests in SVA/MSVA. I can't remember which tribe goes with what activity because I refuse to run the content anymore. I know you fill one box by running dailies, one gets filled by sea fishing, and the other gets filled by running heroics.

I just buy legendary keys top open the MSVA chests instead of spending time running the content but to each their own.

Having looked at the boon tree, it looks like the reqs aren't specific as to whether fishing is actually needed.
Is it possible to do the boons without having to do sea fishing? Or have I missed something?

I don't mind it taking a bit longer, but... you know... fishing...

one of the daily quests is fishing on occasion so you'll need to fish a bit to get the 3 dailies but it not hours of fishing and you could just skip the odd day/stack dailies to avoid anyway - just take a bit longer

I fill the tribe one with getting fish from the treasure chest from treasure maps. Nets you some good stuff.

The three boxes at the top are for opening the chests at the end of Svardborg. Legendary Keys can be used instead, but each box gives a different key.
Elk Tribe is filled by selling fish to the Fish Monger. (Also to complete the dailies, every other day is a 200lbs of fish quest)
Arcane Brotherhood is completed through tasks for Kavatos (He has one or two of the dailies each day so this is easy).
Giants is completed by doing the Runestead Weekly I believe. I have not found any other way to make it tick up, but its possible I'm oblivious.

As far as the OP goes, I' am still working on it so I can't provide any insight...

The only campaign boxes not completed are Supply the Elk Tribe and Create Frosted Glyph. Supposedly the is a battle in which Makos meets his demise and a funeral cutscene (noted by talking in Sea of Moving Ice) and quests for the Ring of Winter. None of this has shown up in the storyline.

Both FBI and Assault on Svardborg are unlocked but not center completed.

While SoMI is open earlier, SoMI storyline quests actually begin after the event mentioned. Complete FBI group quest.
