I know I've seen this talked about before, but I wanted to get some opinions. I was thinking about trading my vorpal for a feytouched because I know for now the feytouched would be better, but with a dps loadout when I eventually get close to 100% crit is the vorpal really that much better? I was looking at
@rjc9000 's weapon enchant testing and it looks like 90% crit is the tipping point between the two enchants. I'm not close to 100% crit at all right now, I think around 60% crit with reckless and steel grace, rage drake and a food buff. My goal is all rank10's at next double refinement, might be able to get higher on at least my companion enchants. Basically I'm several months away from all rank 12 enchants, and not even sure if that would get me to 100% crit using Brutals instead of Azure.
I'm not sure if I could even trade a trans vorpal for trans feytouched straight across, but don't want to regret my decision later.
When I swap to my tactician loadout for dungeons I swap into my trans frost, not sure if I would even bother most of the time if I had the feytouched.

Fey is good if you have low Crit AND is good if you have too much Critical Severity (and Combat Advantage).
If you're using my graphs, try manipulating some of the Crit Severity and Combat Advantage portions. You'll notice the DPS increase of Vorpal will go down by doing that, which, in realistic terms, would be the bonus Critical Severity you get from food buffs (Squash Soup/Wild Storm/Superior Potency Flask).
In addition, Feytouched is far more versatile and has uses other than DPS GF. Feytouched is decent on a Tankadin, okay for a SW who knows how to multi-proc, merely okay on a GWF, and even has uses for an ultra-defensive GF setup.
I'm not entirely sure how much better fey touched is at lower crit levels, but I can say that I still did really solid dps back when my crit was around the 70% range.
However, what enchantment you should be running is entirely dependent on what type of GF you want to be. I'd only recommend going with vorpal and 100% crit if you want to be the "DPS first, tank 2nd" route.
If instead you'd like to be a conqueror with good damage, that can still solo tank endgame content comfortably with little support, then feytouched and sacrificing a bit of crit for more defensive stats can easily be the right choice.
My eventual goal is your second one dairyzeus. I'm just over 12k item level and already feeling tanky in my conqueror loadout, but that's because I have my dancing shield at purple with rank 12 bondings. All my enchants are rank 8 except 3 rank 9 black ice in defense on companion, so I have a ton of room for improvement.
With loadouts... you just need to carry extra gear with you.
So you can be all out DPS for trivial/farming content.... full tank for content that is challenging for yourself and your party... or in between... if you have a high gear score level group that will melt mobs and just need you to keep them off them.
- Forge (GF)
- Apocalypse - (DC)
- Sadus (OP)
- Fireball (GWF)
- Ixian (CW)
Thank you Loadouts for allowing my toons to be all the things... they ever wanted to be....
If multiple people in a party/queue group/trial have Feytouched does that cause the damage "siphon" to only work for one person? I'm guessing if that's the case it would be the first person to hit the target(s) with an encounter power.
Thankfully, Knight's Challenge procs the buff. So, you'll have it when you need it, but if you're stingy with your encounters like I am, then you probably won't have it up for a majority of the fight.
With full stacks of Reckless Attacker I'm like 94% crit or so.
Since we now can solo que on any dungeon/skirmish I made few KR's and ESOT's with ACT on comparing both enchants.
The damage difference is kinda small. Over the course of the whole instance It was like 800k in outgoing damage in Vorpal's favor.
The thing is you need to be aware about how Fey works, to have the buff we need to make sure that encounter is launched on a pack of mobs (my encounters are always on CD so that's not an issue). Vorpal is free of this "burden" so I get why some players prefer it over Fey.
With Negation on, I look like a casino already, so additional flashy thing bugs me even more...
Fey is PINK guys....PINK
A proud member of "mythical horde of DPS GFs"
1). Is SW more dps or tank based?
2). Yes. I am panzer!
3). Get ACT if you want to celebrate your epeen.
4). Horniness will not stand between me and what I believe - "MM"
Or am I THAT weird?

To them, it resembled a pink version of *THAT* melee weapon from Saints Row 3.
