Is Establish Trade Routes and Reap the Rewards worth getting?? [River District Campaign]

Establish Trade Routes (3rd task): Completing this task halves Evidence of Evil and Abandoned Treasures costs from the campaign store in the River District. [Cost: 144 Abandoned Treasures, 240 Evidence of Evil]

Reap the Rewards (4th task): Completing this task halves Evidence of Evil and Abandoned Treasures costs from the campaign store in the River District. [Cost: 240 Abandoned Treasures, 270 Evidence of Evil]

At the Restore Commerce level a Weapon Set costs 1320 Abandoned Treasures, 180 Evidence of Evil.

If I were to complete Establish Trade Routes, then it would reduce to 660 Abandoned Treasures, 90 Evidence of Evil, for a total cost of:
804 Abandoned Treasures, 330 Evidence of Evil

If I were to complete Reap the Rewards, then it would reduce to 330 Abandoned Treasures, 45 Evidence of Evil, for a total cost of:
714 Abandoned Treasures, 555 Evidence of Evil

Considering that Evidence of Evil is the bottleneck in these currencies, why would one complete Establish Trade Routes much less Reap the Rewards? Even if one were to get 2 weapon sets, completing Establish Trade Routes would cost in total 420 EoE vs 360 EoE. It only becomes cheaper if you were to get 3 weapon sets - but who would do this??

If there were more items in the River District Campaign store, this would make some sense, but when I look into it, only the weapon sets are available.

Please someone explain to me why they have these two extra tasks? It doesn't make any sense for me to do them :/

for the weapons complete the first 2 task, 240 evidence of evil is almost enough to get you the weapons set, so imo not worth doing 3rd task.

This is the inevitable result of a design-by-committee process. A designer probably had a decent overall plan for tasks, costs, and rewards. Then came the preemptive nerf squad, grindifyer phase, and Executive Decision roadblocks. The end result is the irrational, joyless husk called Releasable New Campaign that we have come to expect.

One way to fix this and reward the grind is to allow one to buy weapons for other account characters.

Primary weapons have always been for the character only. Not for alts.

Not so - you could do it with Twisted weapons.

The last two tasks are only for completionists. They will pay off if you want all the weapon sets and are required for 100% on Sword Coast Chronicles. If neither of those appeals to you, skip them. Even the campaign achievements dont1 require them, just IIRC the boons and chapter 5.

    +1

Its annoying to have to grind more EoE out juts to purchase weapons/discounts across multiple characters. I guess I've gotten past the point of expecting NW to be alt-friendly though.
