Chests Opened by Legendary Dragon Keys - Where to Best Use Them?

I'm trying to figure out where best to use these keys.

First, for skirmishes, I was wondering if how well you do in the skirmish impacts the chest reward when you use the key. Most people I have asked have said "no."

Assuming the answer is no to the first question, I am wondering where to best use these keys for highest chance of good rewards. I *think* the answer to this is that you should use them in dungeons, and the longer (probably more difficult) dungeons will offer the best chance of rewards. I say this because of this Dev post:

I base this on this line in that post:

"There will be a higher chance to get one of these items in dungeons, skirmishes, or trials that take longer to complete"

So the longest, hardest dungeons/trials seem to be the best. I would assume trial > dungeon > skirmish because, in the order of length and difficulty, that's how it shakes out.

Anybody else have any input?

The only place that felt worth while for me to use legendary keys was MSVA and on my support toon. The time needed to create the free keys was a fair exchange for a few dozen legendary keys.

I find (on console) the second chest in like CN/FBI, the legendary key, while tempting to use, is often not giving back even the cost of the key. Those two dungeons are about the only two places I would use them, and it depends on what you are after. If you need a shard of Orcus and you value your time, hitting that second chest might be worth a key for a chance in exchange for time, same thing for gear in FBI and Spellplauge could be the same too.

Maybe another scenario, you are after twisted weapons or the belt from edemo and you run out of demonic keys but you landed in a gold farm and it took you a week to find a group like this, so timing vs cost...

Fish chest in MSVA. Maybe the Storm Giant chest. FBI is a possibility if you run it enough to be profitable. Merchant in RD may be better than that, though. Otherwise I wouldn't use it anywhere unless you have enough AD to not care what the chest contains.

FBI will give enough voninblood to keep yourself self sustained on Relic Keys indefinitely, as long as you spend a key on your first run, and assuming you are content with only one run per day/every 20 hours, and have no plans on using relic keys in Spellplague, which from what I've heard, has the worst loot table of all the dungeons in the game anyway. I only ran it once shortly after I unlocked it, and considering the VERY bad lags/performance issues I had on bosses, which were hard enough on their own, I don't intend to go back there any time soon.

The dungeon I got my best drops from, is FBI, although I would probably not be able to profit from it with dragon keys.
My worst experience with special keys chest, are from CN.
