Smolder damage

Is there a particular reason why smolder is not affected by Chilling Presence (provided this information accurate in the first place)?
Is it a bug, should we expect it to be "fixed" in the future?

    My uneducated guess would be that it's not a cold based effect despite the interaction with cold spells. But I could be wrong.

    I believe Smolder is Arcane Damage (Fire) in the same way Fanning the Flame is Arcane . Rimfire I believe does benefit from Chill Presence since it's a mix of Arcane and Cold. It also needs cold spells to refresh once started.

    Chilling Presence doesn't care what type of damage it is (just read the skill lol). It only cares how many stacks of chill are on the enemy taking damage.

    As soon as the game gets back online I will test to see if shoulder is still bugged. It's as simple as comparing damage with 1 stack of chill, and 6. The damage will either be about the same, or drasticly different

    Haha, was just closing tabs and saw this...sorry about wait. Yes, it is still bugged. Roughly the same damage with 1 stack, 6 stacks, and frozen

    I THink chilling presence do not boost the smolder because cw has already other power to boost it swath of destruction.
    IN other path there is no specific power like swath of destruction to boost the storm spell.

    have u tried to put first stack of chill and then put smolder? it's a dot and i argue it take the buff the first time is applied, as for the crit

    Without knowing the code behind the MoF Smolder and how the devs intended it to interact with CP we are all in the dark until a Dev tells us that it is broken or working as intended. We can all play the guessing game but we won't win or know the actual answer unless we are working at Cryptic.

    There are so many other issues and bugs in the game that this, if broken, is so minor that I rather the devs do a full revamp to CW than minor adjustments here and there.
