There's a forum there you can post on. People there actually think that Elder Scroll Online's or Guild Wars 2 'action' combat is as good as Neverwinter's. There's even some adults that still play World of Warcraft. LMAO.
You can't right this moment though. They're down for maintenance currently. But if you want more players, why not give it a shot?
I can pretty much guarantee that is Neverwinter is better than almost any other mmorpg they might playing right now. I've tried many. Those I haven't tried I've researched.
*NOTE: I have one lvl 100 and two lvl 95s on Everquest 2. But I won't touch that game anymore. The first game I got max level in was Runes of Magic. I don't recommend it, but it was better than WoW. Way harder too.
I never really understood why people have the need to more or less trash other games. And how do you objectify whats "better"? It will come down to opinion of what ppl thinks, unless your going to start setting values on specifik criterias.
So you played a few mmorpg! So what so?! So have many other ppl, me included (WoW, Warhammer online, Aion, DnD online, ESO to name a few) and everyone have diffrent taste when it comes to play stile, lore, art etc.
If the other games are worst then this game, why is for exemple WoW, and FFIV the most populare mmorpg atm?
Dont get my wrong i like NWO, it's why i still play it. I would love aloth more content like dungeons and raids etc.
Sure Wow isnt as hard as it was in like Vanilla, or TBC. Its kinda watered down atm i will agree with that. But earlier days of wow was not a walk in the park! Dungeons and raids where hard! Sense i have never played everquest i can't compare the two games and say your wrong or right on that.
Yes, I know that WoW was harder in the Vanilla days. I never played it back then because I didn't want to play mmorpgs at the time. My biggest problem with WoW, which was basically Everquest Reloaded, is that it became the standard to which all other mmorpgs were and are compared. Not because it was the best game ever. Not because it is the best way to make an mmorpg. Not even because it was actually better than other mmorpgs available to play at the time. Simply because it was popular and successful. And, as a result, the vast majority of AAA mmorpgs made for the last decade plus have been themeparks. Very, very few sandbox mmorpgs have been made since 2004. Of those that were, few remain to available to play. Only two I can think of that are halfway decent or better. Star Wars Galaxies was a beloved sandbox mmorpg, but it got shut down so that we could be given a Star Wars themepark mmorpg.
Everyone wants to replicate the success of WoW, but it's not going to happen with a themepark. You can't make WoW and make WoW money again. Remakes and sequels are not often as successful as the original. And what if the original was not that great to begin with?
WoW and FFXIV are popular because Warcraft and Final Fantasy are two of the most well known brands in the industry. Everyone who knows anything about rpgs or mmorpgs has heard those names. Movies have been made. Also, there are wealthy and powerful corporations behind both of them, Blizzard and Square-Enix, which have a lot of money for advertising.
All I was saying is that Neverwinter has the best action combat. And, personally, if I'm gonna play a game where I spend most of my time grinding (which is pretty much all mmorpgs right now*, especially themeparks), then I'd rather play one with good action combat. I've done enough quests and killed enough mobs over time in different mmorpgs. It's gotten to the point where I can't really stand to do it anymore if the combat is not fun. If I can't dodge or block and do all the other sorts of things you can do in Neverwinter. Now, if it was a open narrative sandbox mmorpg that was actually a true role-playing game, where my choices and decisions could effect or even change the world, then I wouldn't mind so much if combat wasn't quite as thrilling. Hopefully such a game would not even be mostly about combat.
Oh, and btw, Runes of Magic was the first mmorpg I got to max level in. That was probably as hard or harder than Vanilla WoW. (Did you get experience debt when you died in Vanilla WoW?) Which is one of the reasons I got bored so easily when I actually tried WoW.
*There are actually ways to make mmorpgs without the need for them to have much grinding. Or at least not as much as they do now.
WoW and FF arent just populare because of movies that was made or because they are big names (Yes im sure i did help them aloth). Thats not why ppl still play the game until this day. I have played wow on and off for about 12 years (started to play less after wotlk expansion) and i still think its a good game. Im just a bit tired of it because i have seen it all more or less. Maybe they will make an expansion that will be "great" again, but no not likely that will happen, but who knows. Time will tell!
No wow did not have exp debt for dying, but that isnt what i would call making a game hard in my opinion atleast. I could go in deeper what made WoW hard in vanilla / TBC, but im not here to defend WoW or for that matter any other game that i like. There is little point to it sense many of those game have evolved, so there arent really the game it used to be.
I do agree with you that way to many games tryed to copy wow:s success, and failed horrible at it, or that some smaller mmorpg didnt get the attention it deserved.
You still claim Neverwinter has the best action combat. Can you elaborate why? I do think its great, but i dont really see it working if we have raids like in "wow" for exemple. Yes i know bad example but you get the point. Tab targeting isnt as fast paced and is a bit clunky in many situations. But it has its advantage when it comes to raid healing or single target healing when your in a large group.

Sure. We are just waiting for those first paychecks as associates in the Cryptic marketing department. Then we'll get right on that.
What shall we post first? How about the direct, honest approach: "This game was once great fun. But it has become a monotonous , buggy, laggy gear-grind with few dungeons , lame loot, awful RNG, poor customer service and censorship of criticism... so come play NWO, everyone!"
That is not how marketing works. It is not our job to replace all the players dropping the game. Customer buzz is "pull" not "push". Want us to buzz the game? Fix all the bugs and broken features. Stop... mistreating... innocent players. Bring back the legacy dungeons. Remove RNG from chests. Add moderate BoA loot. And fix my mother HAMSTERing Protector Capstone.
Do those things, then yeah. Maybe.

On second thought, considering the way many of our fellow players were treated this weekend, I think OP is right. "EVERYONE SHOULD MAKE WWW.MMORPG.COM ACCOUNTS"... and tell them, honestly, how you feel about the game and Cryptic right now.

Pfff...which level did you have in RoM? Which last dungeon did you make in RoM? RoM harder than WoW? LoL

This game was fun... but the power creep has damn near destroyed all the joy for me. Power creep kills all games The removal of our armors and weapons.. deleting the abilities of armors and weapons... allowing strongholds boons to dominate outside of strongholds area... it's mess..

I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!
