Arcanic Focus farming mini-guide

As more and more people starting to farm the Arcanic Focus needed to complete the restoration of their weapon sets there are a few useful tips I wanted to share which could help in doing this most efficiently.
1) Free a lot of space in your inventory before farming - you'll need it for maps and passes.
2) Walk to the digsite near the port, it's the closest place to assemble the group. Ideally chose the instance with all digsites unlocked,
3) Announce your new digiste farm e.g. "digsite farm pm for invite" in Zone chat, update the message with the current group count (3/5 etc.). It will take a couple of minutes to get 5 people.
4) Wait for everyone to get in your map instance before trying to enter the digsite.
5) While running the digsite as a group leader make sure to do the looting before the rest of the team (leaving the fights a little earlier)
6) Do not loot the reward box at the same time as someone else is looting, take turns. Otherwise you will run into the bug where only one of you gets both of the rewards.
7) Exit the digsite first if you are a group leader. This significantly increases the chance you and the rest of the group will remain in the same instance upon exit.
8) If the digsite is locked you will have to unlock it by fighting the mobs around and upgrading the guard post first. In some cases you would have to also upgrade the guard post closer to the harbor.
9) Keeping passes in your bag helps to keep track of your 1 hour cooldown - they disappear once your cooldown is over and you can re-enter the site again.
10) Keep #4 in mind when entering the next digsite - doing this while others haven't exited the previous digsite could cause you to enter the next digsite alone, without the group.
11) If you are not the group leader - do not stand too close to the digsite ladder, this blocks the entrance.
12) Do not discard digsite passes by hand - let them expire or you may get locked out of them permanently.

Good luck!

    2 Quick thoughts:

    11) If you are having trouble interacting with a ladder (or any in-game exit, and actually most intractable nodes in this game), look up to the sky. Even in a huge crowd, you should be able to interact easily.

    12) I always discard digsite passes by hand and have never gotten a lockout. As has becky. I think some others mentioned that they did get locked out when they left them in their bags and let them expire... Either way the workaround for this is to have someone else open the digsite for you (only one person needs a pass).

Actually, that's also something maybe worth noting: only 1 person needs to buy a pass per party.

If our working theory is correct, digsites get locked if digsite passes are deleted by hand while not on a River District map. So either don't delete them and let them expire, or do delete them shortly after using them while you are still on River District map.

Do you think our chances to get arcanic focus are better solo and on low pop instances?

It didn't seem to matter in my runs. Having a party helps to clean the dig site quickly. If instance is uninhabited it would take even longer as one would have to free and build guard posts. I personally did maybe 10 full runs and at this point, if I wanted another weapon set, (never again) I would rather do daily/weekly to get the focus.
