RD campfires

jarecord03jarecord03 Member Posts: 144 Arc User
Since when in MMO history have campfires not been a place to "camp" or rest or heal or change items or sell or check mail...?

If you die in combat, you come right back into the fight sometimes :/

Could you please rethink and fix this. ty

I believe it's a D&D thing, to have the campfires. I doubt they will rethink a mechanic that's been in the game since alpha, and is extremely ingrained into the whole experience. It would take way too much work to change something like that now.

Not ALL campfires. The ones in River District that are not safe to do those things.

In RD they are mainly just respawn points. Making them safe is part of the zone and Securing the District.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

There is a mechanic in the game to disable the campfire if the guard post is overrun. However, as the guards aren't leashed to the post and have a tendency to wander away, where there aren't enough enemy mobs to overwhelm them, we end up with a state of Schrödinger's Guard Post, which both has and has not fallen to the enemy. If the guards were working as presumably intended, and actually guarding their posts, the campfires would be safe respawn points - or at least not completely hazardous. When the last guard dropped, the campfire would disappear along with the respawn point.

I think OP's point is that river district campfires are not always safe from attack?
    Meh.
Doesn't seem like a big issue. I just walk away if I don't feel like fighting. Mobs never follow you very far.
There are link 20 campfires on that map.
    Why is this an issue?
