I still am pushing for them to increase upgrade chances on all RNG by 33-50% across the board. It sounds like a lot, but really is it? Today something with a 5% chance would only expand to 7.5% like for an item to becoming a Mythic Artifact. Still it would improve Legendary Artifact chances to perhaps saving a few wards even if not that many but it certainly would make RNG a less frustrating part of the game for many.

Yep, I have said it many, many times, streaky, unrewarding rng makes players annoyed/angry, which in turn make them far less likely to spend money on the game...

Or just make the "chance" cumulative, so you never end up spending more than 10-15% more pres. wards than you "should".
Do what another originally Cryptic game used to do, use a streakbreaker.

So set up a procedure that says for chances of 35% or lower, you will never take more than twice as many attempts as you would take on average. So a 35% chance, you'd be limited to 6 tries before it auto succeeded. 40-65% chances max at 5, higher max at 3. That would save RNG getting stuck (or the same seed being reused) as I believe it does atm and causing silly results.

As part of what I was up to, somebody took 5 tries at 75% to make one of the ingredients for me.

Yeah, after a 2xRP when you have tons of full enchants, and are finishing up the refining, and end up using horrendous amounts of pres. wards, usually a LOT more than you statistically should "have" to, I start to question why I really play this game.

And if there is one thing I don't do for a long time after that, it's buying Zen for real money...

In my opinion, there is only one random number involved in that situation.
My theory is they cache the random number from RNG. No new random number is generated if the RNG request comes in fast.

    This "theory" can explain:
    1. you see N tries to get 75% success many times.
    2. I got 8 green in a row from opening the Rosonate chest. Again, happened many times.
    3. 4 30K rAD XP rewards in a row. 180K rAD in total (including AD bonus). Happened to me one time. I stock up a bunch and claim them in one shot.
    4. People can get 2 legendary back to back when opening lockbox.

Yes, all these are "circumstantial" but they happen enough for me to think that way.

This tallies with my experience, and is part of why the success rate for upgrading enchants is lower than it should be. After a failure, you try again immediately. After a success, you may have some mucking around to do before you try again.

I personally don't do that "immediately" after failure. I always at least wait a few seconds if not more.
I have a whole ritual to perform before I do any serious RNG stuff.

After years of opening stuff and upgrading, and seeing how streaky the RNG can be, I generally take the "slow down on fails" and "hurry up on success" approach.
