No increase in accreditation from Watler companion

I saw that Watler and Staldorf give extra accreditation for the game so I went and picked one up from the Reward Merchant that I had already earned, in his description it says he helps me get extra accreditation so I summoned him as my companion.
Imagine my dismay when I saw that the number of accreditations I earn is the same, and the number goes up by the same (in the campaign) as before I summoned him - eg no increase, nada, nix! Not happy and hoping it can be fixed as I have missed out on alot of accreditations because of this! I refuse to grind this so got him to help me out
