Why is everything locked off in the console version of this game (e.g. AD Exchange & Chat)

why is it that everything is locked off for me on PS4 like chat and trying to convert AD into Zen so i can buy keys pls Cryptic or someone ine here help

To combat gold sellers theoretically. And it's not just the console version. These same things apply to new PC players as well.

Everything will unlock as you play, as long as you follow the main quests through the first few areas. If you follow the story, it will happen in the mid 20's or so. If you play out of order or skip things, it can still unlock but it will take longer and a higher level.

Yeah just bust through quests quickly and you'll hit the required level within a couple of hours.

Took me about a week of solid gameplay on PS4 to enable chat. I read on PC it is three quest lines to break the seal, for PS4 (at least for me) it was five of the six specified quest areas had to be cleared. It is silly (imo) to think this will prevent gold sellers as chat is filled with gold sellers. Rules like this (just like government mandated regulations) typically penalize the lawful and do nothing to stop the illegal. Chat would have really helped me early on in this game. Instead I had to figure it out for myself or google search for answers.

Yeah, I hear you white knights... newbs should shut their mouths and be thankful they have a free game. I know. ))

It does reduce gold seller. Many are there simply to make AD, gold and sell it. The update to AD and the update to quest areas significantly reduced the number of gold sellers compared to what we had a launch. I barely see it now compared to it spamming my chat box.
