River District on an Alt

This new zone is easy and fast on my main, an actual DPS class with good gear.

But the zone was more meant for a stepping stone towards endgame gear, or for alts.
The problem for me the is, it takes way to long to grind on a tank and healer, and my tank is not that badly geared, some 3300 gear score with perfect bondings.

The main problem:

Why is all the Reclaimed Sources character bound?
Why are the mobs scaled so hard, making it annoying to get through on a tank or healer. yes we could group up and get it done faster, but this is a daily zone and many do not group up at these places, not until they enter a dungeon.
The Rewards for the time spend is utter pathetic.
The Skirmish is entertaining enough, but again for time spend the Rewards are really terrible. 15 runs and no +4 companion gear yet, and then I need the exact right ones at that. They can't be bought at AH, which otherwise would have made this a place to grind endgame players.

Point is, this game is still not where it needs to be in regard to rewarding for time spend, nor is it where is should be for being alt friendly. I do not want or need the endgame gear for my alts, but I do want it to be pleasurable to play them.

Start by making all the loot you gather account bound, or not bound at all.
Tune the mobs.
Better Rewards, especially for the Skirmish. Where is the chest? and make the +4 bound to account when used, but able to sell on AH.

This mod is another long grind, with little rewards and very poorly designed for alts.

Erm. Maybe not designed with alts in mind..?

What's an alt for anyway..? My two are for salvage, a bit of pvp, and they can help clear one of the old T2 dungeons. They are all sub 3k, with most of the older boons, wearing a mix of dusk and the new gimmick gear. Twisted weapons. An alt doesn't really need better to be useful.
No idea what my toon is now.

Some players would like to gear up alts more. For example i would like new weapons for my GF but it aint happening. Its too weak to do mod11 by itself and i cant get weapons for my GF with my main. We were able to get twisted for all our alts by playing with main characater. They should bring back that option.

I think the devs wanted to draw a line between a casual alt and a main with the last two mods. Which is fair enough. Though pvp people without rank X bonding pets are probably not happy bunnies about it all.

I have one of each class, so in a way they are all "main". Just a few don't see anywhere near as much play as others.

Yeowch. I really wouldn't want to grind any of the last couple of mods more than once tbh. I admire your stamina.

I really haven't been, as far as that goes. I just try to make sure that each is playable for group content. GF/OP tanks and DC heals if needed and the others tend more towards what I'm in the mood to do/try.

The new campaign zone has level 73 mobs whereas the intial mod 10 zones are level 72. The storyline directly follows up on that of mod 10 and references most of the earlier mods. There is no reason to think that it is for alts. It is the next chapter for characters who have done everything else.

I like the fact that I can actually tell that my Health Bar has another color underneath the red...even if for but a second...lol

3500+ characters may find the new areas not as hard as that is what the new content is designed towards. All my characters are in the 2600+ range, enough for CN and lower content. I also play whatever character I feel like. I still have some boons left to get on all my characters.

I'm in no rush to get best IL ASAP. It makes the game boring if you do this, it happened to me when I was around 2600 on my main and most other players were under 2K still.

Initial content release the game encourages main character only. After a month or two, things are tweaked to encouraged to allow alts to play through the content.

So I have been playing through this module on both my CW and my DC. My CW already has weapons from Mod 10 ... but I'd like to get the Fey weapons for my DC. So this means each evening I spend about 30 min on each character running through the daily for the district with a friend. It's not nearly the grind Mod 10 was for an alt to keep up.

    To compare:

    Mod 10 Dailys - 3 quests in SoMI + 1 in Bryn Shandor + 1 in Lonelywood + 1 in Cold Run
Mod 11 Dailys - 1 quest in River District, + reaching the 100% mark on a second (in total this is 3-4 lair runs/HEs).

Mod 10 Weeklies - 4 total quests (1 in BS, 1 in LW, 1 in CR and 1 in SoMI)
Mod 11 Weeklies - 1 in the River District

The part of this module that is going to be a pain on an alt will be unlocking Spellplague - 4 weeks or so of dailys on multiple characters just to unlock a dungeon is going to mean the number of characters who actually unlock Spellplague is going to be pretty small, at least in the short term.
