How do I increase my gear score? I seem to be stuck.

I seem to have hit a wall with my gear score. I am at about 2742. I have both Drowcraft and Frostborn armor sets, the Everfrost underwear, and I just restored my Shadewalker relic daggers (level 145). Everything is enchanted up to 8 or 9. I have 4 purple artifacts and one orange. My neck is at 135, rings are 140, belt at 125. I have finished all campaigns/boons except Storm King (95% and 3 boons left). I am in a level 6 guild with one defense boon. I think the guild is new to the game, but so am I.

I cannot increase my relic gear since I can't get into Fangbreaker or Svardborg. I have started upgrading the Drowcraft with black ice (just got black ice shaping to 5 this morning) , but I suspect that won't help much. I just maxed my leatherworking yesterday, so I will be adding +critical armor kits as soon as possible.

I just don't know which direction will get my gear score up the fastest. I thought the relic daggers at level 145 would be a big boost over the old artifact daggers at 130, but they only added a few points to my gear score.

I just upgraded my 125 belt to 130 and added 5 points to my score. So if you get one point per gear level, then adding critical kits to all armor should get me 140 points.

Those seem like good guidelines. I actually have a ring of sieging +5, but it does not seem very useful for PvE. I guess the second enchantment slot is what will allow for a big boost in IL.

I assume I should start doing epic Demogorgon for the +4/+5 rings?

Assuming you are aiming to enter FBI, the IL requirement is about entering, you can switch gear after you entered. Hence, your not so useful +5 ring can be used for entry (for the short term anyway).

You can also black ice your amours for a few IL. That needs Black Ice profession level 5, a lot of black ice and Unified elements.

Exactly. And pray to whatever deity own you a large favor ;) Or craft the JC rings for now. Cheaper and faster if all you're looking for is getting in

I finally got my first +5 ring with the new RNG (it was even a semi-useful one). Also seeing more +4's.

If you go Jewelcrafting, I got mine up from 0 to 25 on a toon in about 5 days of semi-serious playing. I did have and use a bunch of "bags of XYZ" for the 10 second Trading tasks, which sped things up a bit (and they could have been sold for decent AD). I had that toon run Jewelcrafting on all open crafting slots and had a second toon create the lower-level necks and rings to transfer to the leveling toon, so it didn't spend time on those low-XP tasks.

There's opportunity cost to the approach I took (not running any Leadership on the leveling toon), but it need not take terribly long if you're in a rush.

    4 Major Armor Kits = +140 ilvl
    4 Major Jewels = +140 ilvl
    4 mythic artifacts = 256 ilvl
legendary belt = 1 open slot for an enchant, which can give you 32-78 ilvl
legendary neck = same as above

I did this process twice, once when I was a newbie and again on my second toon.
The route I took was -> Mythic Artifacts, then Legendary Belt + Legendary Neck, then Armor Kits and Jewels

I followed very much the same path however I did my neck before belt for the extra offense enchantment slot. Once the gear is up, the enchantment grind begins. Work for R10s. It's a long road but you'll get there!

Just a remark. Be sure, that you have a guild/ friends, who will run FBI with your char, if you hit the min IL.

I know some ppl, who have the min IL and more, but their FL is to short and their guild is to inactive, to run FBI.

    This.

Mod 10/10.5 was barely worth the bother if you were in a big guild at the ilvl that you don't need to be carried. If you're looking to get carried in pugs you have better things to spend your AD on besides inflating your ilvl. Mod 11 will have better content for players that are at that point and it'll be more fun too.
