Is Orange really that important for Relic Weapons

Since the key nerf, it is going to be dramatically more difficult/expensive to reach orange on those weapons. But at purple, they already have the extra enchant slots and artifact powers. Is there a good reason to seek orange? I've currently got 1/5/8 orange marks, over 70 successful runs, and it is getting more time consuming to get in a good group! I could be running MSVA until doomsday at the rate S Marks of Ild drop....

    The legendary mainhand isn't "required". That is, you can still do quite fine and deal loads of damage with a purple level 59 Relic weapon.

    But if you want that last extra % of damage to ensure you have all the tools needed to deal maximum DPS? Then yes, a legendary mainhand is needed for the small increase in weapon damage.

    I am a healer so I think I am ok without legendary weapon at the moment. I upgraded mine to Epic and occasionally run ESVA when I have enough reputation. I don't really care about item level because Item level in this game is such a messed up. I am working on farming Lanolin for relic armors because of their stats and run tier 1 and 2 dungeons for AD and new loots. I run FBI more these days.

    its not that important, but currently its looks impossible
    i did 8 runs (total of 24 keys), and didnt got even one orange.
    I dont think i can farm more than 20 keys in a week, so i guess it will take me alot of time to get all orange marks.

    investing so much time in making keys and doing ESVA and getting 0 progress... not sure many ppl will continue to do it

    I'm worried that eSVA marks are going to cost millions of AD. It looks like the changes aren't as bad as everyone though with the exception of this raid. They should have waited a month or two to introduction the changes on consoles, the same treatment pc players received.

    At this point, I'm going to limit my runs, and my only goal is to get the mainhand orange. All I need for that are the 4 hard-to-get S Marks of Ild.

    It seemed like there was a nerf a couple weeks ago. Lately it's been taking me about 10 runs per orange mark. I was getting them in 2's a lot before then.
