I personally don't like Ilvl as a metric stick, as quality of gear does not necessarily make for an easy time or show your skill. Bondings aren't shown in your Ilvl score yet they add a LOT of stats to your character.

I wouldn't worry about the new weapons, as at 2.5k Ilvl and without the campaign task, you won't even be able to enter NSvard. Plus, you'll also need to use your old weapon to get to your new weapon, so it's worth investing some RP into your old weapon.

My overall advice is "go to SoMI when you feel you're ready".

I agree with rjc, don't worry about the new weapons. I would dump all the RP into your twisted/elemental weapons. It will be a while before you can start running nsva. The way things are now, the only people who can run for the new weapons are well-geared tanks and healers, and DPS with 3xR12 bonding. Everybody else has problems getting groups and finishing runs.

Neverwitner has a serious item level requirement problem. Most of the epic dungeons are hard failures if attempted by people of the suggested item level. Good luck vs Orcus for example with 2.5 item level. Even if you have bis people on party but have a lower IL tank/healer your failure is again almost certain. Cryptic needs to re-evaluate the IL requirements because they are misleading. Unless of course they simply forgot to mention those requirements also include a pet with 3 rank12 bondings..

PS: Im sure a group of 5 veterans who know the game and classes inside and out could put together a low item level party and still complete a dungeon. That however would be the exception not the rule.

the thing i hate about orcus was it requires me to stay ranged. as a combat hr that means no damage.

No it does not. They just have not defined it clearly. What min dungeon Item Level really means is a well-skilled group knowledgeable about group dynamics and synergies can win it. What people like you are expecting is what? You can coast through this dungeon at this Ilevel?

    PS4 player here-

When we first started we went into Malabogs with the minimum IL and very little knowledge of our characters (first week of playing maybe?)... this was before the invisible AOE thing was a well known problem. It was a weekend and we spent over 4 hours in there trying to figure out the "secret" to not getting wiped by the lightening at the boss since there was no red. We finished it. So yes - at the minimum IL you can finish the dungeons if you are willing to take all day to do it with a group that is willing to work together and stick it through to the end.

    1) The people who always run with 4 other veterans are a minority
    2) Not every guild is populated with high powered vets.
    3) Most people use the public queue

Considering all of the above and keeping in mind its the norm while highly skilled, co-ordinated groups are the exception, yes I still say the IL requirements for dungeons are off.

    its minimum Ilevel not recommended

ppl have much less patience these days then in say Mod 2. Back then it was common to be in groups where it took 30mins to finish off valindra. These days ppl leave at the slightest sign of not being to finish the last boss on the first go

No longer true. I pugged through mods 3-9, without worry I'd get into the content I wanted. Now it is a very long wait to get into CN and very rare that FBI even pops. I've never gotten into a pugged SVA of either type. You have to either group with pople in your guild/friends or scout a party a la /lfg.

what class do you play? as a hr 2.5k li i cant get into a premade for the life of me. the only one who accepted me kicked me to get a gwf. besides tiamat or ndemo btw. but i dont mind. pugging it works just as fine for me.

Perhaps pugging depends on your platform.

On PS4 anyone can pug into a CN in a matter of minutes. If you are DPS you can wait up to 5 hours to get into an mdemo, elol or vt. Healers get into anything in a minute or less, tanks are almost as quick to get into anything as healers. Malabogs can take the amount of time it takes to complete your full influence runs for the day and most of the time when you get in the group is broken.

I'm told there aren't enough people on PS4 that are high enough IL to really pug FBI yet, though I'm sure that will change soon

Agreed, and the solution is a simple tooltip fix to make it painfully clear.

Just add another line that says "Recommended Gear Score" which could be based off of either player recommendations or their logs if possible.

I've run SoMI content at 2.5k with TR and SW without a lot of problems. A few deaths but was still able to complete quests. Both were running augment pets and had Perfect Vorpal so their damage output was good but could eat a lot of damage quickly as well.

One thing to understand about IL though is that real power in the game comes from bonding pets. Normal bondings are the same as augments. Better bondings increase your capabilities exponentially. If you don't already have them, the Simril event should have depressed prices greatly. Buy them, r

Why are you trying to jump ahead of game content so much ? you should have all or close to all boons from all other campaigns Before you go to somi . It does not take a whole lot of RP to make weapons purple just leave them at that stage and use time and RP to get artifacts and artifact gear leveled up some.
ive been working on the other boons slowly. i am either at the last tier of everything before mod 7 or just before it. still have a ways to go though. have almost purple everything. except my belt its blue. rank 7's working on 8's atm companion with lesser bonding now (recent addition) next 2x rp ill get all my artifacts to legendary probably. switched to trapper recently also. will prob give the new zone another try sometime soon.the main reason im wanting to do the quests in the new zone is so fishing is worthwhile. because i hear its the best way to make ad atm.i have a boat and rod atm. working on learning how to gut fish lol.i just went there and am now aparently able to do the quests just have to play a bit smart.
