Is anybody but me getting rubbish after opening 21+ Starlight Parcels

In earlier years the winter event has been a great source of useful items / companions. So I treated my new GWF to 2 packs of 20 Starlight Parcels, upto and including parcel 20 it was business as usual, however from parcel 21 to 45 its been virtual dross all the way. 1 Blue mount, 1 green companion, 1 champions battlehorn, 2 weapon transmutes, 2 scarves, 3 packs of ice firworks, 8 level 6 enchantments and 7 packages which only contained a gift of simril and a novelty firework. its it just my very bad luck or have cryptic hit this event with the Nerf hammer or worse introduced another unwelcome bug ?

I just made a post about this very same thing. It seams to me the loot table is broken. Acording to the tooltip There shouldnt be a time when you only recieve a gift and novelties.

Well, there are some suggestions going around, when it comes to opening pretty much anything with interesting loot inside:
+ moving your character to an more or less empty map instance,
+ opening your loot box of choice, while other players are also opening loot boxes (daily ViP lockbox key time...) as well,
+ taking a break when you get only rubbish,
and so on, but in the end it probably just is RNGesus at work.

Edit: About Gift of Simril, some say that there is a better chance for good drops, when players change targets between gifting.

Edit II: May be they broke something, when they fixed that exploit during the last Winter Festival?
